One important logistic is the potential for archive lockout, with Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow nearing the ends of their fourth, second and first seasons respectively. Duking it out with gigantic creatures is great in any video game. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate came out last February and brought its massive monsters to the U.S. One of the game’s biggest strengths is its diverse weaponry and armor you wear to hunt down big trophies. Customizing yourself to fit the action is necessary in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and luckily there’s enough to wear. Even though your goal is to track down and kill the monsters, it is amazing seeing how different they all are. All the sizes, colors and abilities make for a wild adventure.
On one hand, being able to explain the finicky mythology of Hawkgirl and Hawkman in a single scene is an impressive feat. And thanks to Hentschel’s matter-of-fact delivery, viewers will either be on board with the story of reincarnation and endless battle or not. Perhaps most telling was when Barry and co. met Gideon, Eobard Thawne’s interactive future Siri. Possessing knowledge of the future, Gideon named Barry Allen/The Flash as the founding member of… something, before she was cut off. No prizes for guessing what that was supposed to be. We also know that Thawne messed with the timeline, causing Barry to become The Flash several years earlier than he would’ve been originally. This would explain how he could be operating as a fully-fledged and experienced superhero for years, before any news starts trickling in from Gotham about a bat-themed vigilante, or the world becomes enamored with a certain heroic Kryptonian. Mario is not only a staple in video game history; he is THE pinnacle of the industry. His games have defined what it means to be a video game. But guess what? I can make a video MOBA game patch Notes too! Super Mario Maker is a phenomenal concept that allows fans to bring to life their very own versions of the plumber’s classic adventures. I’ve had tons of fun just imagining my own Mario levels and feeling like a real developer at Nintendo. If only they could see my creations…sigh. Whatever, Super Mario Maker is in fact a fantastic game despite all the extremely hard user-created levels that I’ve skipped over.
Again, Pokémon is my favorite series and without any title in 2015, I found Yo-Kai Watch to be an excellent substitute. Comparing the two is definitely easy but after playing Yo-Kai Watch and watching the cartoon, it’s worth noting Yo-Kai Watch can stand on its own. The mix of kooky characters is great and each one having its own personality makes the game a unique experience. Yo-Kai Watch is a wonderful RPG for those in search of something that’s just plain fun. I would consider this game as my best 3DS title of the year.
Like any team game, a consistent group of players is almost a necessity. Besides being able to keep a consistent roster of characters, the bickering among friends rarely progresses to the point where people leave, as the composition is stronger. It’s possible that these issues will be remedied in the crossover’s second half, but only time will tell. For now, it’s enough to say that the stars and characters sharing the same set will undoubtedly get fans demanding nothing more than that excited. But in hindsight, any one of these subplots – Hawkman’s return, Vandal Savage’s arrival, Kendra coming to grips with her past and taking a leap of faith, or receiving more than a single sentence of guidance from Barry – could have carried enough drama for its own episode.
