The rumors appear to be painting not only a significant next iteration for a much-beloved franchise, but also a rich, complex, and deeply customizable RPG that will show off just how powerful the Xbox Series X has the capability to be. The excitement from fans of the franchise alone trumps a lot of other significant games in the Xbox’s pipeline, with the Fable fanbase crossing their fingers in anticipation each and every time Xbox holds a major press event or confere
Nintendo is hosting a Pokemon Sword and Shield Nintendo Direct on June 5 , but the games will also be featured as part of the E3 2019 Nintendo Direct presentation. Whether it happens at the Pokemon Sword and Shield Nintendo Direct on June 5 or at E3 itself, we expect fans to get their first look at the starter evolutions as well as the games’ legendary Poke
However, perhaps the most interesting portrayal of morality – one that Fable should take notes from – is that found in The Witcher 3. Choices in The Witcher 3 have real weight, in part thanks to how well the Adventure game online guide portrays its world as being “lived-in.” That manifests itself in many different ways, and on a surface level may not even look like a morality system. Geralt is, after all, a hero, but with his decisions determining who lives, who dies, and, in some cases, the well-being of entire cities, it’s hard to deny the state of the world at the end of the game as a sort of morality system for Ger
One of the joys of playing Breath of the Wild is its sense of freedom. Like any open-world game, there are always limitations, but the magic comes when a developer can give a sense of freedom while successfully hiding the limits of its virtual world. Breath of the Wild excels at this. Fable should not copy Breath of the Wild’s open world as Fable has its own beloved gameplay and style, but a next-gen Fable would do well to make the revolutionary step forward that made Breath of the Wild so endearing and engaging for the Legend of Zelda franch
E3 2019 is right around the corner, and it’s during the show that gamers can expect to see some of the year’s biggest announcements and reveals. E3 is full of surprises every year, and even with Sony skipping E3 2019 , this year’s show has potential to make huge waves in the gaming indus
What was possible for open-world RPGs in 2004 versus what can be achieved now is drastically different. There are some exceptions, Morrowind managed to bring a well-realized open world to the Xbox, but Fable, visually, was a far superior game, obviously leading to restrictions in other areas. The core elements of RPGs have remained the same, but morality systems are an exception. For the past few decades, what gamers want out of a morality system has shifted dramatically, and with it, the way that gamers think about a narrative as a wh
For fans of the Fable games, the potential for Microsoft to produce another mainline entry in the series, instead of outings like Fable: The Journey and Fable Legends , is certainly exciting. Bringing back this Xbox-exclusive franchise could be a great move for Xbox, especially as it enters into a new console generation. If Microsoft plays its cards right, Fable could end up being the Breath of the Wild in Xbox’s portfo
The internet began speculating about a Resident Evil 3 Remake after fairly credible leaks and teases found their way online, as they tend to do. Fans were expecting to see a trailer, or even possibly gameplay, at some point during one of the press conferences this year, particularly due to the success of the Resident Evil 2 Remake, but it appears that fans will have to wait a little while longer to battle Nemesis in
This all raises quite a few ways that the morality system for Fable could change , but the key factor will be making it less black and white. Villains portrayed simply as those that needlessly slaughter citizens isn’t an engaging way to portray a character anymore, even if those actions are “villainous.” Instead, it’s important that Fable introduces some level of ambiguity for decisions to the next game, and shows players the weight of their acti
That being said, it’s a necessary change for a modern title. Ideally, there will be a balance between the old system and the creation of the new one, though, with no game confirmed so far, it’s difficult to say what exactly that will look like. Fans may get a decent idea if the game is announced at Xbox’s July event, though they’ll just have to wait and find
There are multiple reasons why a next-gen Fable should be a reboot instead of a continuation from Fable 3 . First off, a non-numbered Fable is much more welcoming than a numbered entry that continues a series that had its last official entry release ten years ago. Players can jump in without having the question about whether they should have played earlier entries to be able to even understand this new g
Rumors have been swirling for quite some time that Microsoft has a brand new Perfect Dark game in development. According to the rumors, the new Perfect Dark will be third-person , and will be at least partially developed by Gears of War studio The Coalition. Whether or not there’s any truth to these claims remains to be seen, but it would make sense for Microsoft to take advantage of Perfect Dark ‘s popularity and leg
